So I made magnetic sheets and cut Everything out. I will be working on a Square version for indoors fun

Working on Terrain

Wargaming fun issue number 1

So my map which is 4'x6' is nice but I ran into a series of issues I need to solve. FOr war gamming battles it works great really really great. for actual RPG playing it has issues I need to solve.

1. Paper is nice in how it rolls up but it gets damaged too easily especially with people wich sodas and chips. I can laminate it but then I lose quite a bit of work I have built on.
A. I may move things to a magnetic Board and build things in the hex foundation of triangles meaning things built with 1, 3, 6, 10, 15 Hexes
B. If magnetic board may not work I may move to an adhesive based system

I will be experimenting with Magnetic Sheets to see If I can get then to stay in place. Also with any luck I may beable to get the multiple terrain to work Well.

This will be what I attempt this week wish me luck

This board will allow me to use Bluetooth or USB to make a controller board. Has about 16 inputs / outputs on both Analig and Digital COntrols. Features nice to haves like Pulse with Modulation which helps with Stepper Motors I will have to deal with.

I currently Plan on being done in 2 - 3 Years cost fully done about 4k

Breakdown of the project.
1. Buy Arduino ------------------------------ Shipping
2. Buy Angled Aluminum ----------------------- Not Yet
3.

>>Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me." I will respond by asking you five questions. Update your journal with the answers to the questions. Include this explanation, and ask five questions of anyone who replies.<<

1. You run an honest, multi-million dollar company. At one point, you ran everything, but when the job got bigger and bigger, you hired an assistant to run a portion of the company for you. All seemed fine in till your assistant died in a car accident. Now, reviewing his work, you find his department has become corrupt to the core. Sweatshops, bribes, even links to the mafia. It seems like shutting it down completely would be prudent, but his department also employs thousands of legitimate people with families to boot. What do you do?

Covering it up will make the problem worse. I would form a Business Strategy focusing on the quality and ethics. I want everyone in the organization to use them. I would take the currupt business block and find it new work in the organization. Instead of what they were doing come up with a new highly innovative product. Meet with the employees explaining Ethics and why companies depend on them as corporate citizens to be ethical in their practices. I hate to say this but have zero tolerance on this anyone corssing the line will have to pay a heavy price so they could understand that you have to walk the walk and talk the talk.

2. Your people have sent you on a quest for a holy sword; they are about to face a rival army in battle, and they are outnumbered. They believe the swords power can sway the tide of battle. After a long quest, you find it. While ornate, it is a simple, mundane sword. What do you do?

The power of belief is an amazing one. It can turn the meek into hardened warriors. I would lie to protect that belief. However if the sword was stolen it could mean disaster as belief can go the other way.

3. You've chased a gang of bandits for miles. They've stolen from your town and others for months now. However, you and your group find them returning to a poor, run down town, where they are distributing the loot among the people there. What do you do?

Theft by bandits is still theft I am assuming using thug like behavior. I would confront them as to what they are doing and call them out infront of the town. It is ine thing to act righteous with someone elses stuff its another thing to do it with your own. If the people were starving I would organize food drives and help with that as much as I could under the promise no more theft. If the theft continued then the response would be a demonstration of force as a reply.

4. Death comes to your door, but not for you, for your child. You plead with him, and he gives you an afternoon before his returns for what he claims as his own. What do you do with the last hours you have with your child?

I would ask my child all they wanted to do in life and what they wanted. I would assure them those things will be done then play their favorite game with them right up till the end. Once gone I would work hard to ensure everything they wanted got done.

5.You come across a primitive, alien society. Somehow, they have aquired comic books from our world, and believe them to be divine scriptures. They become happy, good working people, believing in doing the right thing above all else. However, they are very strict with thier religion, so thier medical science and technology has suffered. You can disproove thier beliefs, but do you?

It is hard to want to upset the religion but here it is the right thing. Belief is a strong powerful force but it can not be at the expense of Quality of life and Life itself.

Kitchen updates

Ok so lets start off to a couple of things we defined a set of colors that seem to work well.

This is the layout for the cabinets I am building custom wifey and I are planning to veneer them with what you see the bigger stone chips are for the cabinet face. The smaller pebbles are for some stone accents. There is a decorative tile running along the top rim. There are yellow marble tile for the counter top. We are using an aluminum tile backsplash with a decorative slate tile accent along the top of the backsplash

Trash Generated from ceiling work. 25-30 years a go a tree hit the portion of a roof so I have all kings of debris in the attic apparently it was never cleaned out and oodles of bad insulation and old chunks of wood used as walking planks. Plus we pulled out all the wallboard we put up there.

Picture of the ceiling. I found a lot of electrical problems from wire with damaged sheathing to wires brdged with out a box. Both of which are very danggerous and can cause fires. We are decideing whether to plank the top of the ceiling timbers or allow it to span to the top of the roof.

Finally got to see the attic. I definetly thinks there might be enough space for a master bathroom up in the attic it looks very roomy and we already have a few windows up there.

Other than that things are going ok. Hope things are going well with all my peeps.

Fun is like a shiny shiny ..... just shiny

I have been cubicle bound for the past week and I like it more interaction and a faster pace makes the day go faster. Wifey gave me some space in the office area for when I have to come home late and work. Last night I made a few elevation pictures by hand and plan on coloring them to get a feel of the kitchen.

There will be more wood and an older country feel to this kitchen and so far it looks doable. I should be done with the elevation pics soon.

Very German inspired

A picture of our yard and the snow a few weeks ago

We had a rough weekend house wise no design changes

but we have this issue in the Kitchen

What you see here is not hardwood floor but plywood and there is no subfloor
I can spend about 5 weeks repairing it or install new hardwood floors on top.

Wifey and I decided to eat the expense and install new hardwood floors

Here is all that remains of the floor when we bought it and only that much because of the electrical box

Other than that Wifey decided that the neighborhood bookclub around 10 members was going to meet at our house on the 6th of march taking care of any travel plans to see a certain freind of mine birthday around that time.

Next up I have to remove all the wall board I put up to re route all the electrical lines correctly.

Dentist report the chip tooth was so minor he ground it flat in two seconds and cleaning went well

Life is totally insane right now

It starts when you lose your office and have to move to a cube. YOu move to the cube then you are told you have one day to move back to your old office to be told that the Managers have to meet on where you will end up being. I hate being in Limbo. So now I have no office and no cubicle just a laptop and hallways and meeting rooms. Plus I have three big projects and lost two of my staff. It has not been a fun week or weeks.

This weekend I visited an Architectural Wareshouse. They are quite amazing all kinds of stuff pulled from old homes. Things like assorted stain glass and all kinds of doors.

So this weekend wifey and I are ready to start prepping for cabinets. I took the designed we agreed on moved the fridge to the appropriate place. Did cardboard mockups of everything in near life size. Finished doing most of the elecrtrical and plumbing. We chose our paint colors are were finishing the walls to prep for painting. I had all the sanders and sand paper ready to start slowly bringing back the old kitchen floor.

Then it falls apart. I tell Wifey I am starting on the final prep work she comes in looks at it and says "The fridge doesn't feel right in where it is." Now I am frustrated this makes the second time I am close to finishing this to have to scrap and redesign again. So from Saturday at 3:00 till Sunday morning 1:00 am going over this change. It will require a whole new plumbing work and electrical work. So know I am pretty distraught I had finished saturday cleaning the kitchen area to start working on it and Sunday messing it up more. One day kitchen I will conquer you. CURSES!!!!!

And I chipped a tooth today.

Yay Kitchen reno continues

I picked up where I left off. I need to finish moving the fridge to its new location and the Dishwasher to its new location after I finish the floors. I expect this to take a few weeks.

I am amazed at the weather so far it has been so warm that all my trees are budding and I am worried about a cold snap hurting them.

Aniversary and what nots

Wifey and I celebrated our 1 year completion of our togetherness project. :P

We went to a bed and breakfast and spent two nights in Hiawassee. It was a wonderful time surrounded by nice mountains beautiful weather and lots of places to go and things to do.

We started of in Hiawassee and traveled down to Hellen which is modeled after the Bavarian Alps. Lots of European import stores, Chocolate shops, Glass works, and other things you might think of as alpine related.

The food was amazing. Fresh baked pies in the evening for desert. In the morning there were all sorts of delicacies in the morning from italian baked eggs to special types of bacons and sausages to an amazing roast of coffee.

The host was a wonderful joy extremely helpful and full of knowledge and never pushy.

The place was very relaxing and homey not to formal.
